Christmas Traditions New and Old
How fun! Thank God for our neighbor who reminded me that our local Publix shopping center was hosting Santa on Saturday afternoon. I had planned to go and then didn’t get it put on the calendar. I’m so grateful that she’s always looking out for us! We had a great afternoon and even better that it was just down the street. That seems to be so rare here in Atlanta. We were delighted that friends could join us and at such the last minute too. It was a great opportunity and the new pizza joint in the same shopping center is fantastic. I think Hungry Howie’s Flavored Crust Pizza will likely be frequented often.
There was a horse-drawn carriage ride that Clare especially loved.
There were wish lists to be conveyed and Santa hugs to be shared.
Michael is still undecided on his wish. I’m thinking he needs to be deciding on his one thing he wants to ask dear ole St. Nick.
Santa is just great. He knows that a present is a great way to get a hesitant toddler to come closer and then snuggle in for a little Santa lovin’. I’m not certain what’s on her wish list either.
Sweet baby girl and the fluffy, soft Santa man.
Santa, I’d like world peace and Nate wants a 1955 Silver Spyder.
There was a bit of trivia for young and old alike. This girl was the winner in the first 10+ year old question. She won with the answer to “What color are Mistletoe berries?” Do you know? Katie knew. When we asked her how on earth she knew so immediately the correct color of said berries, she responded by saying, “I watched Mickey Mouse this morning with Clare.” Well of course. There you have it. Do ya know? Do ya know? Do ya know? I didn’t and neither did Nate. Our daughter schooled both of us. The berries are WHITE.
Congratulations sweet girl. You earned 45 seconds in the money machine and came home with $28.00.
Daddy won $5 in the ticket raffle. Score.
Katie also scored a gift certificate to Subway. It’s her favorite restaurant. Could she be any more happy with this afternoon event?
This little girl got to color.
Isn’t her angel so cute? I love this picture of Clare.
Check out Michael’s snowman. This gal had some real talent and was so super fast! Adorable!
My little artist.
Given that it’s been raining for what seems like the entire month, we felt obliged to take advantage of a few hours of clear skies and slightly warmer temperatures to partake in our annual Atlantic Station snowfall. It’s fun even if the kids are getting old enough to realize that it is just some sort of bubble mixture that melts once it hits something warm. We all love this silly southern snowfall and the gigantic Christmas tree.
Katie’s hairdo was compliments of the afternoon event.
I love this picture of my two favorite boys.
Happy Advent y’all. Christmas is almost here. We’re taking our coughing kids home. It’s bedtime!
