It really is 2013 already!

January 5, 2013

I can’t believe how quickly time flies these days! Not only is Christmas over, but New Year’s also. In fact, tomorrow is the last day of our Christmas celebrations. We will celebrate Epiphany as a family, exchanging homemade gifts and opening a few late arrivals from family. Yep. That also means that Monday all the decorations will come down…stinky timing, right? I’d much rather have had the weekend to do it, but that’s okay. SO here’s a recap of how we have spent the Christmas break.

December 26th and Alaska has been with us a year. He got a new $0.99 squeaky mouse that makes him jump, pounce, run, and hide everywhere.

An almost nightly s’mores ritual and a movie.

Clare even got a marshmallow and opted to steal the couch and blanket. She is a mooch for sure!

Gotta love Christmas. This year it was all about the legos…for both kids really.

A little laser tag fun made especially wonderful that our neighbor Reilly could join us for pizza night and some serious black light fun.

Our favorite (new) pastime is the drawing classes with Mark Kistler. Daddy has even managed to make it home in time to do a night class with us. We draw in several locations throughout the house depending on the day and time. Check out their hot dog in a house picture!

The 2-week holiday art camp is a total of 8 days of drawing, each day being a different themed drawing. It’s been so fun!!!

Michael’s new favorite thing is Skylanders! He is sure quick to finish his schoolwork so he can play the wii. He has been known to wear his hat around the house.

Michael made the left-side lego as the last one in 2012 and the one on the right as the first one of 2013. It must have been a late night (yes, they really did stay up until midnight—second year in a row), notice Michael’s sweater is on wrong-side-out and he forgot to brush his hair. Thankfully, I noticed before we arrived at Mass that morning.

Happy New Year’s. Let’s celebrate all the blessings yet to be revealed.

Okay, so believe it or not, I have a few last minute preparations still to do for tomorrow’s gift exchange. I’m off to do handprints of the 18 month old. Wish me luck. I’m certain it will go well!
