It’s tradition…

October 16, 2011

We’ve been going to Burt’s Pumpkin Patch since October 2004. It’s tradition!
However, we are now not the only ones that go to Burt’s in October. I think we’ve learned our lesson…go mid-week! The crowds were crazy AND in good ‘ole Atlanta style, the sun was so STRONG that the light bounced off the pumpkins in its own traditional way. Oh well, there were still good pictures, many great reasons for me to use my camera, old friends to meet up with, and memories to be made. Julius was so much fun, running among the pumpkins. Our kids are getting too “old” for such nonsense on their own. The way we interact at Burt’s is different each year as the dynamic of personalities grow and shift. It’s fun to think that we’ll get to watch those seasons all over again as Clare makes her way among the pumpkins in years to come. You can see past year’s pictures HERE and HERE and HERE. As for this year’s photo montage, here you go.

Although, we weren’t certain we’d get to see our beloved friends there today, we were lucky enough to catch them in their last few minutes at the patch. God is good and the kids were happy!

The crowds were so great in North Georgia this weekend (largely due to Gold Rush Days) that we hope to get back to Amicalola maybe this Friday afternoon/evening. Thank God the time hasn’t changed yet. We’ll be able to squeeze out a few more minutes of daylight should we be able to make the trip up.
