Just a few goodies I put together (pre-induction) as a thank you to the nurses and staff who would care for us during delivery and recovery. What an incredible experience. Northside Forsyth Hospital is truly top-notch. INCREDIBLE. Simply incredible. (BTW…for all those moms who will deliver sometime in the future, nurses really love chocolate and pens!!)

The kids were lucky enough to spend the weekend with dear friends. They played at the lake and from what I can tell, they seriously played!!! We are so honored to call you guys friends. Thank you for blessing us in so many ways. Here’s to yet another wonderful “welcome to the family” picture. We love you guys.

Monday afternoon they visited us at the hospital and were delighted to get their first glimpses of sweet Clare. Katie was all about snuggling and keeping her wrapped up in what was surely her most favorite blanket. Michael wanted her to be unwrapped and he wanted to touch every part of her. He was so sweet…inspecting every little inch of her! We are so blessed to have great kids and to welcome another one into the mix also.
Siblings
Birthdays mean presents, right?! The kids each received a little trinket in honor of Clare’s birth!
Katie was delighted with her robot kit. She’s been dying to learn how to craft her own robot. Here’s to what will hopefully be the first of many great inventions in this girl’s life. Michael is about all things Lego or Nintendo. His only comment, was simply, “I sure wish there was a bad guy.” Oops. I guess mom & did didn’t think of that.

Visitors…lots of great visitors have found their way to the hospital and our home to extend their love and of course get some baby snuggles also. Here are my sisters at the hospital.

Last night’s visitors were much anticipated. After having spent several weeks in New York, we were all so anxious to introduce the “girls” to Clare. They came bearing gifts…many, many gifts! I guess it’s a perk of being a Godparent (there might be some competition with the Grandparents). We are lucky to have you guys in our lives. Thank you for taking a serious role in Clare’s life. We love you ALL!

Day #5 was a busy day…in fact, it was my first day out of the house. Cow Appreciation Day means free breakfast and lunch!

This is our girl’s most favorite pose. I am certain this is how she spent the last 3-4 months of her life in utero. Such a little peanut!

Superstar!!!! Yep. She really is an overachiever. For the first time in Boster history, the first pediatrician appointment came with an outstanding report. Our sweet girl is “perfect” in the words of the pediatrician. In fact, he said CHANGE NOTHING! Sweet!!! I’m delighted. She is now 7 lbs. 2 oz. at 5 days old. Yep. That does indeed mean that she is over her birth weight. (Three days ago we brought her home at 6 lbs. 10 1/2 oz.) God is good. We are so blessed and all are rejoicing.

Now…for the next chapter to begin!
Gramma & Papa arrive tonight at midnight. Bring on some grandparent lovin’!!!
Thank you to everyone who have blessed our week, offered their prayers and well wishes, and of course brought meals too! I am so grateful! This recovery has been a tremendous blessing! Know that we rejoice in your love and offer our own prayers of thanksgiving for you! More to come in a week or so.
