Fun with Ellos
Katie surprised us Wednesday afternoon by finding and bringing down this new-to-us set of building “blocks”.
It had been passed down to us by some old friends and stored away in the closet and promptly forgotten about. Katie having finished her chores and summer school work, wanted something different to do. Surprise!!
I love these “people” pieces and their happy colors and unusual forms.
Our initial set was great, but didn’t really have enough pieces for both her and Michael to play. Going to Amazon I was shocked to learn they were ridiculously expensive…$75-150 each set! Seriously?? So…thank goodness we live in a big city and CraigsList is available. SCORE!! 4 sets for $20 total and only 10 minutes from Nate’s office. Awesome!
This was the scene the next morning; colored blocks discovered over cereal.
Katie spent literally the ENTIRE day on Friday playing.
Our girl who hasn’t really played with toys for years now, was so delighted by these pieces and the potential for creativity and imaginative play.
I loved she had the freedom on this summer day to play and create. I sincerely hope there’s more to come.
